FAQs

Once your lender or broker has processed your application, you’ll get an email with your Customer ID. You’ll also get an SMS with a temporary password.

You’ll then need to…

1. Select the ‘Sign in’ button on the Westpac website.

2. Use your Customer ID and temporary password to sign in.

Please keep in mind that your temporary password will expire.

Switching your loan to us?

We may be able to verify your ID and income within our secure application – you'll need two types of ID if you’re new to Westpac (Australian driver licence, Medicare card, Passport, Australian birth certificate).

You’ll have the option to securely auto-verify your income paid to other financial institutions.

Yes you can. Once you’ve started your application, you’ll get an email that includes your application number that you can use to retrieve your application when you’re

If you’re an existing Westpac customer, you can also resume your application through your Online Banking.

Once you’ve submitted your application, you’ll no longer be able to make changes to it. However, you’ll still be able to upload your documents if required.

Please note that for joint refinance applications, if you’re the first applicant and have submitted your application, you won’t be able to retrieve it until the secondary applicant has joined.

Please reach out to your broker or lender to help you if you need to make changes to your application after you’ve submitted it.

If you’re buying a home with someone else, the primary applicant* will complete the application on behalf of both applicants, so the co-applicant won’t need to join the application.

For refinance applications, the primary applicant* needs to complete their part of the online application first. Once they’ve done this, an email will be sent to the coapplicant with a link to join and complete their part of the application.

Please make sure the co-applicant’s current email and mobile number is also correct, as the email invitation can only be sent once.

*Primary applicant refers to the first applicant that started the application, co-applicant refers to the additional applicant.

After you’ve submitted your application we’ll email and/or SMS you with a confirmation that we’ve received your application and what the next steps are. A lender will aim to be in touch within 1-3 business days to answer your questions and finalise your application.

If your application is approved, you just need to accept our loan offer. If you’re refinancing, we’ll help you sort everything out with your current lender and you may be able to settle within a week.

Once you’ve submitted your application online, you’ll get an email that summarises your application as well as your assigned lender’s name. Your lender will aim to be in touch with you

within 3 business days.

If you’re buying a property, the first applicant will complete the application for both applicants to speed up the process. A lender will give both applicants a call to finalise the application after it’s been submitted.

If you’re refinancing (where you’re switching your loan to us from a bank other than St.George, Bank of Melbourne or BankSA), the first applicant will start the application and submit their part. Once they’ve submitted it, the second applicant will get an email invitation to complete their part. A lender will call both applicants to finalise the application after it’s been submitted.

Yes you can. You can upload your supporting documents (e.g. statements and pay slips) online or supply them directly to your lender. Your lender will let you know what documents you need.

Our digital home loan application currently doesn’t allow you to include the equity from an existing property that you own.
